Palliative Care - Consultant - Lismore Base Hospital Lismore Base Hospital is a regional referral Level 5 base hospital with state-of-the-art operating theatre suite, ICU/CCU, imaging, Cardiac Cath Lab and most major specialties and subspecialties. The Lismore Base Hospital Emergency Department is a comprehensive level 5 Emergency Department and is the designated Trauma Centre for Northern NSW with on‑site roof top helipad as part of our Retrieval Service. The Palliative Care service supports patients with a progressive, life‑limiting illness to help maintain the best quality of life. Community Palliative Care Nurses and a multi‑disciplinary team including social workers help patients monitor pain symptoms and offer support for end‑of‑life care in collaboration with the patient’s treating specialist and GP. We are looking for an experienced Specialist Palliative Medicine who will cover the hospital, the community and any scheduled clinics. The Specialist will work 0800‑1700 hours each day with on‑call overnight as rostered. Responsibilities include daily ward rounds, attending any emergencies and the ED, participation in the on‑call roster, scheduled clinics and supervision and training of Junior Medical Officers. Standard daily rate is $2500 per day (24‑hour period) all‑inclusive as per NSW Health capped rates. Basic accommodation/allowance, hire car and reimbursement of reasonable travel will be provided. Locum applicants must be job‑ready with current NSW working with children clearance, national criminal record clearance and completion of all mandatory training modules including eMR and eMEDS prior to commencement.
