Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Permanent Full-Time – Afternoon Shift Mon‑Fri at Unanderra Depot, New South Wales. Compensation: $50 ph plus penalties. The Opportunity We are looking for a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to lead the maintenance and repair of our waste truck fleet and related yellow gear equipment. Responsibilities Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy vehicles and yellow gear. Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure fleet safety and compliance. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults. Maintain accurate service records using fleet management systems. Support workshop safety and cleanliness in line with WHS policies. Carry out basic welding and grinding work as required. Qualifications Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (Cert III or equivalent). A valid HR licence. Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrics. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues efficiently and cost‑effectively. Experience with fleet maintenance and running repairs. Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
