Gardener – Childcare Centre

We are seeking a dedicated and self‑motivated Gardener to be responsible for the maintenance and presentation of our 4-acre property, which includes a childcare centre. This role is essential in ensuring that all outdoor areas are safe, attractive, and well-maintained, providing a welcoming environment for children, families, and staff. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, reliability, and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety across the grounds. This is a permanent part time role (15 hours per week), Monday to Friday 6:00 am‑9:00 am. Key Responsibilities Perform general garden and grounds maintenance across the 4-acre property. Mow, edge, and trim lawns to ensure a neat and tidy appearance. Conduct pruning, weeding, mulching, and planting as required. Maintain pathways, fencing, and play areas to ensure a safe environment. Monitor and maintain irrigation systems and perform watering as needed. Identify and report any maintenance or safety concerns to management. Operate gardening tools and machinery in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with workplace health and safety standards. Skills and Experience Competence in the safe use and maintenance of gardening equipment and machinery. High attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and presentable environment. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently. Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive approach to daily tasks. A current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) is desirable. What We Offer Regular part-time hours, Monday to Friday mornings 6:00 am‑9:00 am.
