This role is within the Step-Up Step-Down service, a short‑term sub‑acute residential service (up to 28 days) that delivers recovery‑focused mental health support to central Queensland consumers with severe mental health issues. About the role The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a Registered Nurse who will partner with the non‑government organisation (NGO) and the multi‑disciplinary mental health teams of the Central Queensland Hospital Health Service to deliver specialist clinical mental health nursing practice. Responsibilities include: Intake, assessment and short‑term, intensive mental health interventions Admission and discharge planning in collaboration with the appointed NGO Providing evidence‑based mental health interventions to consumers About you Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and a current annual practising certificate. Eligible to achieve and maintain Authorised Mental Health Practitioner status and perform duties under the Mental Health Act 2016. Desirable: post‑registration or tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing/education; credentialed status with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses; knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2016 and National Standards for Mental Health Services 1996.
