Deckhouse, a premier hospitality venue in Woolwich, is seeking a dedicated Casual Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is vital for maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of our kitchen operations, supporting our chefs across a varied schedule. As a Casual Kitchen Hand, you will be an integral part of our kitchen, contributing to a high-quality dining experience. Your responsibilities will include assisting with food preparation, ensuring kitchen hygiene, and supporting the team during busy service periods. About the Company Deckhouse is a renowned waterfront establishment in picturesque Woolwich, celebrated for its exquisite dining and stunning views. We are proudly part of the Dedes Waterfront Group, a leader in hospitality committed to excellence in food, beverage, and service across all its venues. Responsibilities Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and cutting ingredients. Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including floors, benchtops, and equipment. Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, ensuring all crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils are clean and sanitised. Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and organisation of stock. Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards and regulations. Support the kitchen team during peak service times, ensuring smooth operations. Requirements Previous experience as a Kitchen Hand or in a similar fast-paced kitchen environment is beneficial. Ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team. Strong understanding of basic food hygiene and safety practices. Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential. Availability to work a flexible roster across seven days, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to commute to our Woolwich location. Work in an iconic waterfront location in Woolwich.
