The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Programs and Operations, this Senior Process Engineer role has a strong focus on Project Management and delivery, leading cross functional teams and supporting the business’ plan to commercialise products and services.

Supporting both the Life Sciences and Clean Energy Technology divisions, you will be responsible for product development, new product introduction, production/process optimisation, technical transfer to third parties and one-off projects including the establishment of pilot plants and related facilities.

Along with this, you will be leveraging your chemical and process engineering capabilities to deliver projects using tools, and frameworks such as Project Charter, Work Breakdown Structure, Project Schedule, Action log, Risk Registers and Project Status Reports

This will be rounded out with managing outsourced work, supplier and vendor relationships, facilitating risk assessment and leading and mentoring junior process and chemical engineers.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a chemical engineering qualified senior process engineer, with demonstrated industry experience delivering commercial outcomes. The role has a significant Project Management focus, a PMP certification will be highly regarded along with experience covering all project design phases as well as during construction, commissioning, start up and operation.

Exposure to startup environments would be a plus as well as established success in large organisations. The position will require team leadership, contractor and supplier management along with an ability to work closely with individuals within project groups, helping to create a positive and inclusive team environment.

Strong technical skills with the ability to present technical concepts and cut through complexity to provide pragmatic solutions, strong presentation, organizational, and time management skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills will also form part of the role.

Experience in chemistry and energy storage materials product development, manufacturing and testing, and experience with contract management and IP awareness, is a plus but not required.
