Job Description Be part of the team that shapes the future of GSE maintenance across the Qantas Group, driving national consistency, safety, and operational excellence. Lead strategic transformation by owning and evolving maintenance programs that support over 8,000 assets across multiple ports and workshop networks. Influence technical direction, collaborate with frontline teams, and deliver measurable outcomes. Full‑time secondment role until September 2026 based in Mascot, Sydney. As a Principal Maintenance Program Specialist , you’ll be a key driver of operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic innovation across Qantas Group’s Ground Services Equipment (GSE) portfolio. With oversight of more than 1,500 unique maintenance programs, this high‑impact leadership role blends deep technical expertise with strategic vision and stakeholder influence to ensure our assets are safe, reliable, and commercially sustainable. To Be Successful You’ll Have Proven experience in leading and motivating teams, with strong people leadership capabilities including coaching, mentoring, and performance development. Familiarity with maintenance information systems such as IFS, TRAX, Maintenix, SAP or similar platforms, and the ability to manage large datasets and scheduling processes. A commercial mindset, with the ability to assess decisions through a business lens and deliver measurable outcomes. Demonstrated success in change management and continuous improvement, with a track record of achieving KPIs and driving operational efficiency. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non‑technical audiences. A resilient mindset — comfortable navigating complexity, imperfect or incomplete information, and operational challenges without becoming overwhelmed. Why Qantas?
