Senior Software Engineer (React / Java / API) Job No: Sydney - Inner Suburbs & CBD Permanent Full Time IT Pay Band 5 About the role As a Senior Software Engineer you’ll collaborate with delivery leaders and engineering teams to build scalable React web applications, APIs and microservices that support strategic initiatives. You’ll play a key role in uplifting engineering capabilities, driving quality, automation and security while mentoring others and leading technical best‑practice adoption. Successful candidates will have proven experience with React, APIs and Spring Boot (Java). What you’ll do Design, develop and support high‑quality software solutions across web APIs and microservices Provide technical leadership in automation, CI/CD, configuration management and monitoring practices Embed secure software development principles through code reviews and threat modelling Coach and mentor engineers, fostering best practices and continuous improvement Analyse system requirements, create technical designs and ensure robust testing across all phases What you’ll bring 5 years of software engineering experience including proficiency in React, Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservice architecture Experience coaching and mentoring engineers Proven testing skills with ATDD or Behaviourally Driven Development Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex issues What you’ll enjoy Access our award‑winning Shine platform – your central hub for exclusive perks, wellbeing support, career development and recognition.
