We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic and safety-conscious Stevedores who have demonstrated a stable work history in an outdoor environment. To secure this exciting opportunity you will have a commitment to safety in the workplace, ideally with experience in the construction, logistics or landscaping sectors. Key Accountabilities As a Stevedore you will work within a team responsible for the loading and unloading of cargo vessels at our Port Botany Terminal. Lashing – Use of heavy rigging equipment (up to 30kg metal bars) to secure shipping containers to the deck of a ship. Applicants will be required to demonstrate they can safely lift and pass a ‘lashing bar lifting test’ prior to employment as part of a broader pre‑employment medical and physical assessment. Tele Operations – Using automated and remote control technology to assist in the accurate placement/removal of containers on/off trucks while parked in the bays. These positions work on rotating shifts, generally of eight hours, day, evening and night, Monday to Sunday. Work is irregular based on ship arrival patterns and requires a high degree of flexibility and preparedness, as employees may need to make themselves available, often at short notice. Experience, Skills and Qualifications A positive safety attitude and a demonstrated "customer first" focus. A current Fork lift License (National High Risk License) is mandatory. C6 (Reach Stacker) or equivalent (National High Risk License) is preferred. A full C Class Driver's License. Heavy Machinery operation experience. Experience with physical work or labouring. A commitment and willingness to achieve superior work performance. The proven ability to work in a team. Patrick is committed to providing a safe working environment.
