Multi-Service HVAC Technician

Multi‑Service HVAC Technician – Moderna Located in Clayton, Melbourne, the successful applicant will have a strong background in HVAC/Mechanical maintenance and operations, with at least five years of hands‑on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting within commercial, industrial, and construction environments. Much of this role involves overseeing and maintaining critical systems during assigned shifts to ensure seamless facility operations. What You Will Be Doing Perform technical work on building services equipment in accordance with Equans safety, quality, and customer standards, ensuring that the Equans is meeting its objectives and budgets. Oversee the maintenance and repair of HVAC/Mechanical systems, including but not limited to compressors, pumps, water treatment systems, refrigeration, and air conditioning. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment. Quickly respond to and troubleshoot mechanical faults or breakdowns, implementing solutions to minimize downtime. Ensure all HVAC/Mechanical systems operate efficiently and in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical environments. Collaborate closely with engineering and maintenance teams to maintain seamless operations of facility systems. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including shift logs, system performance, and repair tasks. Monitor environmental conditions and mechanical system outputs on BMS/CMMS to align with pharmaceutical manufacturing standards. Support external contractors during scheduled repairs or maintenance. Stay updated on the latest mechanical technologies and industry trends to maintain best practices. Work alternating shifts with flexibility for overtime and on‑call roster as needed. What You Need Minimum of five years of experience as an HVAC/Mechanical Technician, preferably within facility operations. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, compressors, pumps, and water treatment systems, and experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Experience in pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environments is highly preferred. Strong understanding of engineering codes, standards, and regulations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Excellent diagnostic, problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Qualifications HVAC/Mechanical & Refrigeration trade qualifications (required). Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in HVAC/Mechanical maintenance. FPA accreditation (desirable). Experience working in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment (highly preferred). Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
