The Role

Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the company and contract broiler farms.Animal Welfare Management: Ensuring that the birds are kept in optimal conditions, including monitoring temperature, ventilation, lighting, and sanitation to promote healthy growth and minimize stressFeeding and Nutrition: Supervising the feeding regimen to ensure the birds receive the proper nutrition at each stage of their growth cycle. This may involve working closely with nutritionists to develop feeding programs.Health Monitoring and Disease ControlOverseeing the maintenance of the broiler houses or barns, ensuring they are clean, well-ventilated, and equipped with appropriate heating and cooling systems.Staff Management, 3 direct reportsRecord Keeping and Data Analysis

Suitable applicants will have:

Extensive experience in animal husbandry, particularly with livestock poultry with a sound commitment to the welfare of the stockBiosecurity, Quality & WHS understandingPrevious experience in livestock managementExcellent communication & leadership skills including conflict resolution and problem solvingExcellent time management skills to be able to priorities dutiesKnowledge of WHS procedures and good understanding of how day-to-day activities could impact animal welfare, biosecurity and environment.
