Mechanical Design Engineer
to join our client in delivering a new testing facility.This position will be responsible for designing and developing the mechanical systems on this Greenfield project and will work seamlessly alongside a high performing multidisciplined team.
The role will be offered a
contract basis
and be based out of their clients’ facilities located in
Hazelmere, WA.
Key Responsibilities
Detailed Engineering Design: Interpret detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and translate the information to 3D space.Integration: Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into the overall design.Cost Management: Assist in cost estimation for components and systems, optimizing designs for cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.Testing and Troubleshooting: Participate in the testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems, identifying and resolving issues during prototype and production phases.CAD Proficiency: Utilise SolidWorks software proficiently for drafting, modelling, and creating 2D and 3D drawings.Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers to ensure project success.Quality Assurance: Ensure that all electrical & mechanical designs adhere to quality standards and are aligned with project objectives.Fabrication drawing experience, experienced in production environments, and a good
knowledge of fabrication and machining.
Qualifications And Experience
Mechanical engineering degree.Minimum 8 years’ experience in design & drafting in 2D and 3D space.Exposure in designing at a concept level to quickly mock up designs, as well as full detailed design with full production and assembly detail.Proficiency in Siemens NX preferable, otherwise SolidWorks and AutoCAD for mechanical design.Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.Sound knowledge of Design for Manufacture & Design for Assembly.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.Ability to work autonomously.About AirswiftAirswift is an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, process and infrastructure industries.
