This project is in Western Australia’s resource-rich Pilbara region.

The Drill and Blast Engineer is responsible for the planning, optimising, and monitoring of Drill and Blast activities. This role is also responsible for the design of drill and blast patterns whilst ensuring compliance to environmental regulations and managing costs.Permanent – full time positionFIFO from Perth on an 8/6Located in the Pilbara regionDuties & Responsibilities:Coordinate the drill and blast function to ensure blasted stocks are maintained to achieve mining rates within budget.Produce and review of drill and blast designs and tie-ins.Monitor and reconciliation of drilling and blasting performance in areas such as drilling rates, spatial and physical compliance against daily and weekly plans, wall attainment and costs.Weekly and monthly reconciliation of blast performance including the review of QA/QC data, fragmentation analysis and dilution/ore loss from blasting.Develop and improve the Drill and Blast function's systems and procedures to ensure, clearly defined processes exist and are continually improved.Provide inputs and planning for the annual business plan and forecasts.Manage Drill and Blast related software applications and effectiveness.Develop and implement continuous improvement projects and trials.Assist with the daily production planning.Providing highly accurate data entry, validation, and technical analysisUpholding safety and contributing to activities that ensure compliance with environmental management.Requirements:Degree in Mining Engineer / Open Pit Mining CertificationWA C class driver’s licenseDemonstrated experience in a similar role within a Mining Engineering team.Great communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Mine Planning software literate with experience preferably in: Vulcan/Surpac/Deswik and Alastri mining software.
