Job overview Are you an experienced and compassionate nurse looking to develop your skills in a specialist setting? We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our dedicated Urology Outpatients Team, supporting patients undergoing Local Anaesthetic Transperineal (LATP) biopsies and flexible cystoscopy procedures (including TULA and Botox) and delivering appointments for patients attending new and follow up appointments. You will be part of a forward-thinking multidisciplinary team committed to delivering safe, effective, and person-centred care. This role involves clinical support and patient coordination for urology diagnostic and treatment clinics, particularly LATP and flexible cystoscopy services. You will play a key role in maintaining patient dignity and comfort while assisting with minor surgical procedures and consultations; supervising our experienced team of Health Care Support Workers. The role incorporates appropriate stock management and building relationships with colleagues supporting our outpatient services working alongside our secretarial, medical and nursing colleagues within the Urology Centre. Main duties of the job Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate individualised nursing care for patients attending urology outpatient procedures Prepare and manage clinical environments for LATP biopsies and flexible cystoscopies Assist medical and nursing colleagues with procedures, including patient positioning, local anaesthetic administration, and equipment handling Deliver patient education and aftercare advice Ensure effective infection prevention and control measures Accurately document care delivered and contribute to quality improvement Maintain and order appropriate equipment and supplies to deliver activity in a timely manner Please see attached job description for full details of roles and responsibilities. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Registered Nurse Relevant qualification in mentoring / assessing pre-registration students 1 year post registration experience within an acute secondary care setting Desirable criteria IV cannulation and venepuncture Competent in male and female catheterisation Experience in Urological Nursing These include but aren't limited to : - Holiday starting at 27 days plus Bank Holidays rising to 29 days after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years for Agenda for Change staff Holiday entitlement for Medical and Dental staff starts at 27 days for Junior / Senior Clinical Fellows, Specialty Doctors and rises to 32 days after 5 years.
