As a key member of our Highways team, you’ll apply your design knowledge and 12d modelling skills to shape sustainable, future‑ready transport networks. This role is ideal for a driven engineer ready to lead by example and help develop the next generation of designers. The Opportunity Lead and support road alignment design for major highways, urban and rural roads, and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. Prepare and manage 3D models using advanced features of 12d Model to support design development and communication. Coordinate and review the work of junior engineers, providing mentorship and skill development opportunities. Ensure timely delivery of design outputs within agreed project budgets and timelines while maintaining high technical standards. Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement of Arup's systems, tools, and design excellence initiatives. Strong technical knowledge of road design standards (e.g. Austroads, RMS, Transport for NSW) and practical experience applying them. High proficiency in 12d Model, including use of advanced design tools such as snippets, macros, trimeshes, and model attribution. Experience working on complex, multidisciplinary projects and coordinating design inputs across various teams. Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to a variety of audiences. A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline, and progress toward or completion of professional institution membership.
