There has been a temporary relocation of Ward E1 to allow critical infrastructure works to be undertaken at John Hunter Hospital as part of John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct project - 28 beds from Rehabilitation (E1) have relocated to The Maitland Hospital (Level 5), for a period of no longer than 24 months. This new unit at The Maitland Hospital will be staffed 24/7 as necessary to support sub-acute patients.

The Role:
As a valued member of our team, you will collaborate closely with our Rehabilitation Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Consultants, and a range of Allied Health and Medical Professionals. This role offers a unique chance to expand your professional horizons through weekly in-services, rehabilitation grand rounds, and medicine grand rounds.

Information for Applicants:


To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.

Successful candidates will be temporarily required to work from Maitland Hospital for a duration of up to 2 years while construction is underway at the John Hunter Health Innovation Precinct. When construction finishes, staff will work at John Hunter Hospital, Rankin Park Precinct as their primary location.
Where eligible, a travel allowance will be payable to successful candidates for the duration of this placement at the Maitland Hospital. Eligibility will be assessed on an individual basis and paid in accordance with the Public Health System Nurses’ and Midwives’ Award. Applications maybe reviewed prior to the closing date.
