Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a busy restaurant environment, a strong sense of flavor, presentation, and creativity, and a genuine passion for authentic, high-quality food. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes, including grilled items, dumplings, curries, and traditional meals, ensuring all food meets the restaurant’s high standards for taste, texture, and presentation. Collaborate with management to design, test, and implement new dishes, seasonal menus, and special promotions that maintain the brand’s identity while introducing creative variations. Ensure every dish is prepared consistently and presented beautifully. Monitor portion sizes, seasoning, and overall quality to maintain the brand’s culinary reputation. Oversee day‑to‑day kitchen operations, including ingredient preparation, stock rotation, and food storage according to food safety standards. Maintain accurate records of supplies and reduce waste wherever possible. Supervise and support kitchen staff to foster a cooperative, efficient, and hygienic working environment. Provide ongoing guidance and training to ensure continuous improvement in kitchen skills and productivity. Ensure compliance with Australian food safety regulations, including temperature control, cleaning schedules, and personal hygiene standards. Conduct regular checks to uphold a safe and sanitary kitchen environment. Assist in managing food costs by monitoring waste, portion control, and supplier quality. Support ordering, stocktaking, and maintaining adequate inventory levels without overstocking. Work closely with management and front‑of‑house staff to ensure customer feedback is addressed promptly and positively, enhancing overall dining experiences. Requirements Diploma or formal qualification in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification. Minimum 1 year of skilled experience as a chef. Expertise in Nepali and South Asian cuisine is highly desirable. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast–paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively. What We Offer Competitive salary: $75,000 - $80,000 + Super based on experience.
