Systems Software Engineer

As a System Software Engineer at QuasarSat, you will take ownership of maintaining and enhancing the core software platforms that power our Ground Station-as-a-Service (GSaaS) and Space Domain Awareness (SDA) products. These systems are already operational and support global satellite communications and all-sky RF sensing. Your role will focus on improving performance, reliability, automation, and observability ensuring mission-critical operations continue to run smoothly and efficiently. You’ll collaborate with our Digital, Antenna, and Systems teams to evolve the platform, integrate new customer use cases, and enhance data delivery capabilities. Key Responsibilities Maintain, optimise, and enhance existing GSaaS and SDA software platforms, ensuring high availability and mission reliability. Monitor and troubleshoot operational systems, implementing fixes and improvements to reduce downtime and increase throughput. Enhance platform functionality for satellite scheduling, data delivery, and visualisation applications. Maintain and improve software interfaces to phased-array antennas and traditional dish-based ground stations. Implement incremental feature updates in collaboration with the Digital, DSP, and Systems Engineering teams. Maintain and extend infrastructure automation, deployment pipelines, and monitoring tools. Deploy and manage systems across Azure Cloud and on-premise hardware. Contribute to system security, performance testing, and documentation for production environments. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. 4+ years of experience in software engineering or systems operations for complex distributed systems. Proficiency in Python and C++, with ability to debug, maintain, and refactor production code. Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. Strong knowledge of Linux environments, networking fundamentals, and virtual infrastructure. Experience maintaining monitoring and logging systems (Grafana, Prometheus, Airflow, etc.). Familiarity with data pipelines, APIs, and integration workflows using Kafka, PostgreSQL, and Clickhouse. Understanding of DevOps and platform operations best practices. Exposure to satellite ground systems, RF communications, or space mission operations. Experience in hybrid deployments (cloud + bare metal) and high‑availability system operations. Understanding of signal processing or telemetry workflows. Interest in space technology, electronics, or radio astronomy that complements software expertise. Ability to work independently, troubleshoot effectively, and deliver incremental improvements to live systems. Why Join QuasarSat?
