The Opportunity We’re seeking a passionate VET Educator in the Sydney area to deliver Certificate III in School Based Education Support (CHC30221) to Year 11 students in 2026. This HSC‑integrated program combines classroom learning with real workplace experience, setting students up for immediate employment or further study. Educators will deliver weekly learning content and assessment guidance sessions in a classroom environment during school terms and be available for individual support via phone, email and online during agreed hours. Based at schools within the Parramatta and Newcastle region, our learners will commence Year 11 in February 2026 and complete this course as part of their HSC studies. Location: Greater Sydney and Newcastle regions (flexible hybrid working arrangement – work from home when not at schools) Work type: Contractor or part‑time arrangement available Appointment commencing: January 2026 Salary: $89,000 FTE + super + motor vehicle allowance (based on experience) – pro‑rated for part‑time hours What You’ll Be Doing Inspire young learners through engaging weekly face‑to‑face workshops using UNE Partnerships' proven curriculum Mentor students during their practical work placements in real school environments Assess student work with constructive feedback that builds confidence and competence Provide personalised support via phone, email and online platforms to ensure every student succeeds Develop tailored Learning Support Plans for students with diverse needs Proactively connect with at‑risk students to help them overcome barriers and stay on track Collaborate with school staff and UNE Partnerships team to create seamless learning experiences About You Essential Requirements Trainer credentials: TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent, and/or a higher qualification in the field of adult or vocational education, or a tertiary qualification in Secondary Teaching with minimum TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set Required Qualifications CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support (or higher) Skills And Experience Recent, substantial experience working as a teacher’s aide or in education support roles Demonstrated experience working with students in educational environments Genuine passion for empowering young people Driver’s licence and willingness to travel between school sites Highly Valued Experience delivering VET programs to school‑based learners Confidence with digital learning platforms (Moodle, Teams, etc.) Certificate IV or Diploma in Early Childhood Education Understanding of diverse learning needs and engagement strategies Please note: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
