The role and associated developing digital preservation activities areground-breaking for the University Library and transformative, delivering the foundations for the management of digital collections for the future. About the Role The Digital Archivistis based within the RMIT University Archives teamand collaborated and liaiseswith Library colleagues and externally. RMIT University Archivessits within the University Library, School of Educationand forms part of the University’s rich fabricof information management, culture and heritage. We collect, storeand preserve recordsthat are precious to the RMIT and broader community. The Digital Archivistwill: Develop digital preservation practices and workflows Prepare digital materials for ingest to a preservation workflow. Provide format guidance and support Manage format tools and documentation What You Will Need: The successful candidate will have a wide-ranging technical skillset that includes: Knowledge and/or experience in understanding the risks and vulnerabilities of data and digital technologies.
