Our client is seeking a skilled Linux Engineer to join the business. In this newly created local role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of their Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of their mission-critical systems. What you’ll be doing Managing the full lifecycle of Linux operating systems (installation, maintenance, patching and support) within the Azure cloud environment Lead the installation, configuration, and upgrade of ERP and associated database applications operating on the Linux platform Designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure Linux infrastructure Automating and optimising system processes and workflows using scripting and configuration management tools Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing proactive maintenance strategies Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with broader IT initiatives Staying up-to-date with the latest Linux technologies, trends, and best practices What we’re looking for Extensive experience (5+ years) in administering and managing Linux-based systems and environments Strong proficiency in configuring and maintaining Linux distributions, such as Debian/Ubuntu and/or Redhat/CentOS Strong scripting skills – Bash and/or Python MySQL installation and configuration experience Strong knowledge of core networking technologies Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex issues Ability to work independently and handle multiple simultaneous projects Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams What we offer Competitive salary and an a rewarding profit share contribution Overseas travel to the USA for initial training Opportunities for professional development and career progression A flat structure where you will connect with users at all levels Supportive and inclusive work environment - including a daily Scrum Flexible work arrangements – hybrid working Access to the latest technologies and tools About us Our client is a $200m+ global industrial business, with strong presence across the ANZ region.
