The Opportunity The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and Industry Engagement Lead plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping the College’s vision for sector-leading employability and applied learning. This role is responsible for architecting, implementing, and scaling UNSW College’s WIL agenda—designing transformational learning experiences and building high-impact partnerships across industry, government, and community sectors. Working closely with academic, student experience, and external partners, this role drives the development of innovative WIL models - including placements, projects, simulations, and co‑designed learning experiences - ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You will champion the College’s employability strategy, strengthen industry relationships, and position UNSW College as a leader in future‑focused, workforce‑aligned education. About the Role In this role, you will: Deliver and embed a College‑wide WIL framework across pathway, practice, project, and placement activities. Design scalable WIL systems, tools, and processes that support consistent, high‑quality delivery. Build and formalise strategic partnerships with industry, government, and community organisations. Collaborate with academic teams to integrate WIL‑ready curriculum and industry‑informed assessments. Lead compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement for all WIL activities. Represent the College at sector forums and influence policy and best practice in employability. Explore co‑funded programs, grants, and industry‑supported initiatives to enhance WIL sustainability. This is a collaborative, future‑focused leadership role suited to someone passionate about helping students gain the skills, experiences, and opportunities needed to thrive in the world of work. About You You will be a strategic thinker with extensive experience in WIL, employability, or industry engagement within higher education or workforce development. You will bring: A strong track record designing or delivering WIL or applied learning initiatives. Experience developing senior‑level industry partnerships, co‑investment models, or co‑designed programmes. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with credibility at executive and industry levels. Strong understanding of employability development, curriculum design, and regulatory compliance. The ability to use data and insights to evaluate program impact and guide decision‑making. A collaborative, innovative mindset aligned with UNSW College’s values and strategic direction.
