Regional Director (North Coast), Transport and Main Roads Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD – Buderim QLD Your opportunity to lead transformative transport projects and shape Queensland’s future. As Regional Director, North Coast Region, you will lead the planning, delivery, and maintenance of critical transport infrastructure across one of Queensland’s fastest growing regions. With $7.2 billion in investments through to 2028–29, you’ll oversee major projects such as The Wave rail connection, Bruce Highway upgrades, and the Mooloolah River Interchange. These projects are vital to supporting the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and delivering a lasting legacy for Queensland communities. This executive leadership role offers the chance to influence transport, economic growth, and community outcomes while managing key stakeholder relationships across government, industry, and communities. Regional Director – North Coast Region SES3 High | Full-time | 5-year contract + possible extension As Regional Director, you will lead the planning, delivery, and maintenance of critical transport infrastructure. You will work closely across government and TMR to deliver transformational works announced as part of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Delivery Plan. This includes interfacing with rail delivery for the new heavy passenger rail line from Beerwah to Birtinya (The Wave Stages 1 and 2) while driving major road infrastructure upgrades. You will also oversee projects such as the Bruce Highway and Mooloolah River Interchange upgrades and The Wave Stage 3 (Metro), a high‑capacity service connecting Birtinya to Sunshine Coast Airport. Key Responsibilities Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver transport infrastructure projects that meet the needs of a growing region. Oversee the delivery of major infrastructure projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time and within budget. Provide strategic advice to the Director‑General, Ministers, and senior leaders on transport priorities and challenges. Strengthen partnerships with government, industry, First Nations groups, and communities to achieve shared goals. Manage critical regional assets, including state‑controlled roads, bridges, and rail infrastructure. About You We are seeking an experienced executive with a proven track record of leading complex transport programs, service delivery, or infrastructure portfolios. You are a strategic thinker with strong stakeholder engagement, policy, and advisory capabilities, and you thrive in highly visible, politically aware environments. Mandatory Requirements Experience in transport, infrastructure, economic development, or large‑scale government operations is highly regarded. Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, law, project management, economics, or related fields are highly desirable.
