Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Audiologist The closing date is 22 January 2026 We are seeking to appoint two Specialist Audiologists to join our busy and friendly team. There are two permanent positions available, both roles are mixed adult and paediatric specialist audiology roles. Position one: Full time FTE 37.5 hours per week Position two: Part time 0.7 FTE 26.25 hours per week You will need to be a well‑motivated, enthusiastic, qualified and registered audiologist. We are an innovative department, providing a comprehensive audiology service. You will join a highly motivated team, committed to providing a high quality service. Main duties of the job Main duties will be in the assessment and (re)habilitation of children and adults with hearing difficulties, on both complex and routine pathways. You must have excellent communication skills with adults, children and parents, and have a desire to find creative and effective solutions for patients with a variety of hearing problems. You will be a competent practitioner and able to work without supervision in the main department and at community clinics. You will be expected to develop specialist expertise although training will be given. We are a training department and you would be expected to contribute to training junior staff and HTS, PTP and STP trainees. CUH Audiology is an experienced training centre and you will be mentored and encouraged at this key stage of your career. You will ideally have an STP in Audiology or equivalent. Person Specification Qualifications MSc in Audiology or equivalent (or assessed study in Adult Rehabilitation Audiology at M‑level) State registration (or working towards this if not yet eligible) Experience Extensive experience in general audiology post‑qualification Significant specialist experience in adult rehabilitation. Significant experience in paediatric Audiology Experience in audit and service development Evidence of autonomous and unsupervised working Experience with complex adult rehabilitation caseload eg unilateral hearing loss, severe/profound hearing loss, tinnitus Knowledge In‑depth working knowledge of relevant national standards, policies, professional recommendations and guidelines Detailed knowledge of hearing aids and their processing strategies and other relevant new technologies Skills Advanced skills in adult and paediatric auditory rehabilitation and specialist tests of hearing function Computer‑literate, with good keyboard skills Ability to extract clinical information from and communicate complex technical explanations to patients and carers. Ability and willingness to lead, offer opinions and direction in an effective team‑spirited manner Advanced research skills Additional Requirements The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent.
