Lead/Senior Estimator

ConsultANZ is seeking an experienced Lead / Senior Estimator to join a high-performing team and contribute to the delivery of civil infrastructure and land development projects across the Auckland region. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong civil construction experience who’s ready to step into a leadership role and help shape the estimating function of a growing mid-tier contractor. Key Responsibilities Work closely with other estimators to prepare and submit high-quality, competitive tenders. Ensure all bids are submitted on time and reflect accurate costings, schedules, and methodologies. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and review competitive pricing. Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil works using a first-principles approach. Assess project requirements for labour, plant, and materials to support accurate pricing. Review contract documentation to ensure compliance with tender requirements. Support successful project handovers, including ongoing cost and variation management. Participate in client meetings and support negotiation processes. Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities across tenders and projects. Drive continuous improvement of estimating systems, tools, and processes. Mentor and guide junior team members to develop their estimating skills. Requirements A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management (or equivalent) 8+ years of experience in civil construction with a strong background in estimating or QS/estimating roles Sound understanding of earthworks, drainage, roading, and subdivision projects Experience in a mid-tier contracting environment (project values $1–15M) Proficiency in Estimator or other estimating software Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively across teams What’s on Offer Competitive salary package from $150,000 – $190,000 (negotiable depending on experience) Opportunity to lead and shape an estimating team Work on a broad range of civil and infrastructure projects Supportive, collaborative work culture with career development potential APPLY NOW If interested or email to hear more about this opportunity.
