Director/Recruitment Specialist @ Recmatrix | IT & Non-IT Hiring | Ex-HCL Job Title: Agentic AI Developer (Contract Role) Location: Sydney or Melbourne, Australia Total Experience: 4+ Years About the Role: We are seeking an AI Engineer with strong experience in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agent-based development . In this role, you will be responsible for building and deploying RAG models, integrating them with agentic AI frameworks, and running these models in production environments . The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in coding, deploying, and optimizing AI‑driven solutions for a leading banking client . Key Responsibilities Design and implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) models to combine external data retrieval with generative capabilities for more accurate and context‑aware outputs. Apply agent‑based frameworks (experience with any model is fine) to develop intelligent models that can autonomously make decisions and interact with dynamic environments. Engage directly in the coding and implementation of AI models. This is not just a design role – you’ll be building the systems and taking them into production. Take AI models into production , ensuring scalability, reliability, and optimal performance in a live environment, particularly in the banking/financial space. Work alongside other AI engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure the solutions align with business objectives and deliver impact. Utilize AWS Bedrock suite and other AWS services to deploy, scale, and manage models effectively in the cloud. Continuously monitor and optimise models after deployment to ensure they perform well in production, troubleshooting any issues and improving model efficiency. Required Skills & Experience At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and agent‑based AI model development. A broad understanding of agentic development frameworks (experience with any agent model is acceptable). Proven experience coding and developing AI models, not just designing solutions. The role requires hands‑on involvement in both model creation and deployment. Demonstrated experience in taking AI models into production and managing them in a live environment (deployment, scaling, monitoring). 2‑3 years of experience in Python with a focus on AI and machine learning . Experience with AWS services , specifically the Bedrock suite , to deploy, scale, and manage AI models. Experience working in the banking or financial services industry. Experience with frameworks like TensorFlow , PyTorch , or Keras is a plus. Experience with optimising AI models post‑deployment, including techniques such as A/B testing, model versioning, and drift detection.
