Horticulture Apprentice - City and Environment Directorate Full time, Apprenticeship, Casual/Temporary. Classification: Apprentices. Salary: $37,181 - $62,194 plus superannuation. Position No: 46019. About the role This four-year apprenticeship offers hands‑on experience maintaining Canberra’s parks, gardens and public spaces while completing a Certificate III in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens) at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT). You’ll rotate across different depots, learning from experienced teams and gaining practical skills in: Planting and maintaining trees, shrubs, and floral displays Lawn care and landscaping Irrigation and pest control Cleaning and upkeep of public amenities and open spaces Safe operation of horticultural equipment By the end of the program you will be job-ready with nationally recognised qualifications and diverse experience in urban open-space management.
