An exciting has arisen to join the Motor Neurone Specialist Practitioner service as a support worker to contribute to the provision of a comprehensive clinical service to clients referred with Motor Neurone Disease in the community. The post holder will be required to implement supervised clinical tasks as directed by the Specialist Practitioner in a range of community settings as well as carry out administrative tasks to support patient care, clinical governance and clinical processes. You will be required to work closely with clients and their families so communication and compassion are important requirements for this role. The post holder will be required to comply with the standards and priorities set by the Specialist Practitioner for Motor Neurone Disease. Due to recent changes in UK immigration and visa rules , this role may not be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Skilled Worker visa: going rates for eligible occupation codes - GOV.UK Health and Care Worker visa: If you'll need to meet different salary requirements - GOV.UK Main duties of the job To be responsible for own clinical administration as well as clerical administration related to the caseload according to Departmental and Trust policies relating to the format and security of patient records and as agreed with the Specialist Practitioner for Motor Neurone Disease. To be responsible for the care of equipment and resources; to monitor equipment and resource needs and to suggest requests for new items when necessary through line managers. To follow relevant departmental guidelines in communicating concerns to qualified staff and in incident reporting. Job responsibilities Clerical administration related to the caseload according to Departmental and Trust policies relating to the format and security of patient records and as agreed with the supervising Specialist Practitioner for Motor Neurone Disease. To monitor equipment and resources needed within clinical area, and to suggest requests for new items when necessary through line managers. As directed by the Specialist Practitioner for Motor Neurone Disease, contribute to the implementation and delivery of telephone triage, telephone reviews and advanced booking of patients thereby releasing clinical time. To Motor Neurone Disease Multidisciplinary meeting management through planning, documenting of minutes and circulation as directed by the Specialist Practitioner. To assist in the preparation and delivery of training and to participate in evaluation of the effectiveness of the training given. To assist the Specialist Practitioner for Motor Neurone Disease in informing and supporting patients, relatives, carers and significant others presenting information clearly in order to reduce the impact of symptoms of Motor Neurone Disease in everyday life. To participate in monitoring of clinical outcomes and effectiveness and to implement audit activity in line with service and professional clinical governance requirements in liaison with the Specialist Practitioner and MDTs. To provide appropriate and timely client related correspondence according to Trust, professional and service requirements including the requirements of other relevant and involved agencies. To carry out assigned tasks to support the Specialist Practitioner as required such as providing accurate and timely information regarding caseload pressures, collating outcome measures, operating databases and other clinical administrative tasks. Person Specification Qualifications NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in relevant subject Good standard of secondary education IT Qualification (e.g. ECDL) OCR/RSA Secretarial Qualification (or equivalent) Other Ability to travel to alternative locations Experience Experience of secretarial or administrative work/activity Previous work/voluntary/clinical placement work in a health care environment Ability to work effectively in a team Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing, including observation, empathy, listening skills and the ability to follow instructions from senior staff Ability to work independently with developing organisational, problem solving, negotiation and planning skills Developing ability to reflect on own practice, knowledge and skills Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to empathise Ability to use Microsoft Office products- Excel, Outlook, Access, Teams To communicate at all levels by telephone and face to face To respond to telephone enquiries and to take accurate messages To follow instructions and procedures and work to tight deadlines under pressure with conflicting demands Ability to plan and prioritise own workload To understand work related boundaries and the ability to refer matters of importance to senior colleague Multi-disciplinary working or experience in health and social care setting Experience working with people with communication difficulties Basic knowledge and understand of acquire neurological disorders Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. £24,937 to £26,598 a year per annum/pro rata #J-18808-Ljbffr
