About Your New Role In the Occupational Therapy reliever role, you’ll step into a rewarding position that offers variety and flexibility. This role rotates across sites in Newcastle, the Hunter, and the Lower Mid North Coast, giving you the chance to work in diverse services and clinical areas. It is a great opportunity to expand your network and make friends with different teams. While you’ll have a nominated base site, your primary responsibility will be to provide cover for Occupational Therapists on leave across the district. This unique opportunity allows you to broaden your clinical experience while ensuring continuity of high‑quality care for our communities. About The Team You’ll be part of the Allied Health Reliever Programme, a well‑established initiative managed by the Allied Health Directorate since 2007. The programme supports paediatric and adult services across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. You’ll join a team of covering professions including a Dietitian, Physiotherapist, Social Worker, and Speech Pathologist. Locum blocks typically range from one week to a month, with regular time at your base site every four weeks for admin, mandatory training, professional development, and clinical supervision. The Allied Health Directorate will coordinate your roster and travel, providing ongoing line management and a consistent point of contact. At each site, you’ll have one‑on‑one support and mentoring to ensure you feel confident and connected. Beyond this, you’ll have access to monthly journal clubs, annual professional days, and opportunities for external professional development.
