Workshop or Field Based | Diesel Fitter | HD Fitter | HD Mechanic CQ Diesel Fitting/Waterson Diesel is looking for a highly skilled Diesel Fitter, HD Fitter, or HD Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Gladstone, Queensland. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay, excellent working conditions, and the opportunity to work with a well-established company in the automotive trades industry. What You’ll Be Doing Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of heavy‑duty diesel‑powered equipment, including trucks, earthmoving machinery, light vehicles and other industrial vehicles. Work on transport vehicles, elevated work platforms, trucks, cranes, generators, and much more. Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment. Provide on‑site repairs and roadside assistance as needed. Keep accurate and detailed records of all work performed. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures. Collaborate with the team to share knowledge and best practices. What We’re Looking For Formal qualifications in diesel fitting, heavy‑duty mechanics, heavy vehicle mechanics or a related trade. Proven experience as a diesel fitter, HD fitter, or HD mechanic. Strong technical expertise in diagnosing and repairing a variety of diesel‑powered equipment. Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work autonomously and take initiative. A commitment to safety and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to different job sites.
