Mechanic

About the Role Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing our hire equipment, plant, EWP’s and company vehicles. You’ll play a key role in keeping our fleet running safely and reliably, while also delivering friendly, professional service to our customers. This is a varied role where no two days are the same — from diagnostics and repairs to site deliveries and customer interaction. What You’ll Be Doing Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment, plant, EWP’s and vehicles Perform preventative and routine maintenance Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines Maintain accurate work logs and report damages or safety concerns Assist with loading/unloading equipment and site deliveries Support the front‑of‑house team with customer service when needed Contribute ideas to improve efficiency and service quality What We’re Looking For Trade‑qualified Mechanic or Fitter Strong knowledge of machinery, hydraulic and electrical systems Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills Good communication and customer service abilities Ability to follow procedures and work safely at all times Physically capable with a positive, can‑do attitude Advantageous: MR licence, Forklift licence, White Card, Test & Tag cert, EWP ticket Why Join Coastal Hire?
