Care Hub provides early intensive support & intervention to young people entering care for the first time; to minimise time in care & maximise successful family reunification. The Care Hub brings together a number of organisations to form an integrated team of professionals to support children and young people in the areas of Mental Health, AOD, Cultural Connection, Family Work, Community Engagement and Therapeutic Support. You will provide quality interventions and services that focus on outcomes for families experiencing vulnerability and focus on the safety and wellbeing of children. Your primary objective is family reunification. The aim of this role is to provide intensive outreach to families (including outside normal business hours) with a focus on reunification and the safety and wellbeing of children and young people within the family home. The role will also undertake regular risk and needs assessments and case management utilising evidence based frameworks and interventions. Your key contributions and skills day to day Provide case management to clients and respond to their needs through assertive outreach and responding to crises that occur. Using a range of techniques, including being flexible, responsive, strengths-focused and creative to engage with children, young people and families who are reluctant or ambivalent about using support services. Provide direct interventions (including parenting development) to achieve agreed goals at either individual, family and/or group setting. Undertake comprehensive risk and needs assessments, utilising the Best Interests framework, that identify the safety, stability, development and wellbeing of children and young people involved, and the capacity and constraints of families to make the changes needed to improve outcomes for children and young people. Develop collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders including the care team, Child Protection, Aboriginal organisations, CALD services, disability services, LGBTIQA+ services and other key partner or community organisations, in order to ensure a coordinated approach and to promote the best outcomes for clients. Work within the Best Interest Framework An understanding of how trauma can affect the development of young people Solid understanding of the Child Protection and Welfare system in Victoria Excellent written, verbal and collaborative communication skills Flexibility and adaptability to work in a busy and dynamic program Why you should apply A salary at SCHCADS level 5 which starts at $100,776 plus super at 12% Flexible through the increments up to 5.3 (dependent upon experience) Based at the Care Hub in Bendigo Permanent, full time.
