As the peak body for Landcare in Tasmania, we are a vibrant community of hundreds of member groups and thousands of volunteers state-wide. Together, we continue to protect and restore the soils, waterways, flora and fauna which make Lutruwita/Trouwerner/Tasmania unique. We are an not-for-profit, non-government organisation and are registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). About the Role We are at a pivotal moment in our evolution — scaling from a small, passionate team to a statewide organisation delivering significant environmental, agricultural, and community outcomes. This position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced professional who wants to contribute to a values-driven NGO with a clear future of growth and impact. It will appeal to someone seeking a meaningful leadership role that gives back, or to someone already in the for‑purpose sector looking to take the next step in an organisation with vision, capacity, and purpose. About You You are an experienced operational leader who thrives in purpose-driven environments and enjoys building the systems, culture, and structure that help organisations grow. You bring a balance of strategic insight and practical, hands‑on delivery, comfortably moving between high-level planning and day-to-day operational problem‑solving. You’re skilled at leading teams through change, fostering collaboration, and creating a positive, high-performing workplace. People trust your judgement, value your clear communication, and appreciate your calm, solutions-focused approach. You have a strong grasp of organisational operations — from finance and governance to people and culture — and you’re confident navigating the requirements of a not-for-profit environment. Importantly, you’re motivated by meaningful work and passionate about supporting community-led environmental outcomes. You are ready to step into a leadership role that shapes the future of Landcare Tasmania and, over time, positions you for progression into a senior executive role such as Chief Operating Officer.
