Tertiary Student Placement- Maternal & Child Health Location: Broadmeadows VIC 3047, Australia Hume City Council seeks a tertiary student placement in the Maternal & Child Health Service. The placement is unpaid and requires the student to be a registered nurse or midwife, be accepted into an approved program of study, and hold AHPRA registration. What you’ll be doing Promote health, wellbeing, safety, learning and developmental outcomes for children and their families. Observe and participate in KAS consultations under the supervision of an MCH nurse preceptor. Assess the health and wellbeing of children and their caregivers. Collaboratively plan care with children and families, including referrals for internal and external supports. Document in accordance with legislative requirements, including mandatory reporting. Observe and participate in enhanced consultations with nurses, parent support workers, social workers, outreach and Aboriginal engagement team. Attend group sessions such as Babies in Hume and breastfeeding support service. Attend and participate in clinical supervision and professional development. Student Requirements AHPRA registration as a registered nurse and registered midwife. 5 years postgraduate experience in nursing and midwifery. Hold a current Working with Children Check. Provide proof of enrolment in an approved Maternal & Child health program of study. Provide a signed Student Placement Agreement including the education provider’s insurance documentation. Agree to act in accordance with Council’s Employee Code of Conduct while undertaking placement. Additional Information Resume: The application requires a resume, including skills, strengths, work experiences, and areas of interest.
