Business Analyst

Business Analyst Location: Sydney/ Newcastle Employment Type: Permanent Must Have: Full working rights. No sponsorship available. Purpose Provide functional application support to business users by understanding their issues and requirements, translating them into clear system changes, and managing the end-to-end delivery of improvements. This role acts as the bridge between business stakeholders and the technical team, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and released safely. Key Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for functional queries and incidents from business users. Investigate and analyse reported issues to identify root causes and propose solutions. Engage with stakeholders to elicit and document business requirements for system enhancements or process changes. Prepare detailed functional specifications that guide development and configuration activities. Plan and execute system testing, including test case creation, test execution, and defect management. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with business stakeholders. Manage the change release process, including change request submission, approval tracking, release notes, and communication of impacts to users. Maintain accurate records of issues, changes, and enhancements in the relevant tracking tools. Support continuous improvement of business processes and system functionality through proactive analysis and feedback. Required Skills and Experience Experience working in an enterprise systems environment, supporting application software in bulk material logistics for the mining industry. Solid experience in functional or application support, business analysis, or systems consulting. Strong ability to translate business needs into structured functional documentation. Practical understanding of change management and release processes. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute system testing with attention to detail and risk. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters in business language. Analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a structured approach to issue resolution. Experience in Bulk commodity logistics environment Bulk commodity mining environment Commodity trading environment Attributes Collaborative and service‑focused mindset.
