About the School Champion Bay Senior High School is the largest Independent Public School in the Midwest region of Western Australia. Staff and students work together to demonstrate our agreed values of ‘Respect, Aspire and Resilience.’ The Role We seek motivated applicants with a passion for teaching English at the secondary level. You will ideally have a solid understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum for English and experience in Senior School courses, including Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). You should possess the professional knowledge, understandings, and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant Teaching and Learning program. In your role you will deliver a curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of all students, fostering an environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential. We are a school dedicated to the development of quality teaching and learning through our Whole School Instructional Framework and Instructional Coaching. Using Classroom Management Strategies and a restorative practice model helps teachers to be leaders in their classroom with the assistance of our CAT trained staff. Further support with more complex issues is available through our extensive pastoral care team consisting of team leaders, Year Coordinators, Student Services Managers and Associate Principals. You should ideally possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interaction with students, colleagues, and parents. Additionally, you should be an effective team member, contributing to a positive culture of success where students are motivated to achieve their personal best. Professional Benefits Attractive Country Teaching Program Allowance of $5,000 per year District allowance of $1,239 a year Temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $2,000 12 percent employer contributions to superannuation 12 weeks’ vacation leave (school holidays) More than 20 days of other leave, including sick leave and carers’ leave Subsidised accommodation where applicable Free relocation Teachers and school administrators employed in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary ARI payment of $2,000 (gross – pro‑rated for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff receive a percentage of this payment upon commencement, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to receive the second payment. Mobility appointments Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school may elect to undertake this role as a 3‑year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3‑year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role or transfer permanently into this school. Note that south‑west teachers are not eligible to move to another south‑west school under this trial.
