Medical Oncology Fellow Applications from suitably qualified candidates are invited for a Medical Oncology Fellow position at the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre, Grampians Health. This twelve‑month position, commencing in February 2026, provides comprehensive clinical and research training under the supportive supervision of five full‑time and five visiting medical oncologists. Skills & Experience Candidates should possess appropriate qualifications and postgraduate experience in oncology, with a demonstrated commitment to oncology patient care and research activities. The position will ideally suit candidates who have either fully or partly completed advanced training in medical oncology and hold or will be eligible for specialist registration. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams are essential. Key Responsibilities Actively involved in clinical trials, participating in all relevant clinical trial unit meetings and activities, and undertaking independent research under the supervision of an experienced mentor. Clinical responsibilities include participation in oncology clinics four days per week, including fortnightly outreach clinics to Horsham or Stawell; weekly multidisciplinary team meetings; two to three consultant ward rounds each week; and participation in after–hours on‑call and weekend oncology ward rounds. Academic responsibilities include participation in regular Journal Club sessions, Mortality and Morbidity meetings, and junior doctor teaching programmes; protected time to attend the weekly Victorian Medical Oncology Training Group education series; and opportunities to teach undergraduate medical students from the University of Melbourne and Deakin University. About Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC) BRICC is a state‑of‑the‑art regional cancer centre that provides comprehensive oncology services, including outpatient chemotherapy, inpatient oncology, radiotherapy, and a growing clinical trials unit. The centre works closely with allied health services and has partnerships with regional institutions such as the Austin Hospital. It serves a population of over 350,000 across the Grampians region.
