Students Explore Australia – Sydney CBD NSW Access Adventure Club is a new brand (under Students Explore Australia Pty Ltd) that is on a mission to connect young people with nature, to improve the wellbeing of our next generation. We predominantly achieve this through delivering our Accessible Adventures programs for young people with disabilities. We have been in operation for 10 years and are leaders in a uniquely positioned niche that falls between outdoor education, disability support and tourism in Australia. We currently have a team of 15 full time staff and approximately 40 casual staff and we are going to expand our programs in New South Wales. Role Description In this role, you will primarily be responsible for working with your Program Coordinator (team leader) to successfully deliver our all-abilities camp programs. You’ll have the option to choose which programs you wish to book yourself onto, and we’ll know these dates usually 6 months or more in advance. Our programs are located in nature-based destinations surrounding the Sydney area. The role can be summed up into 3 main components: Physically and emotionally supporting 2 or more young people on program, in a variety of nature-based programs Offering reports and updates to guardians about the progress and milestones that the young people you are working with have achieved Working as part of team and using your specialised skills in the team when needed Qualifications Have had experience working with kids with disabilities Have the ability to build rapport quickly with kids Have a passion for the outdoors or positive wellbeing of young people Are physically fit and capable Are fun and knowledgeable entertainers Have core values that are aligned with ours Specialisations Specialist caring (such as manual handling, personal care or behaviour specialists) Driving minibuses and trailers Overnight shift monitors (great for those willing to be night-owls) People who identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, that can facilitate cultural workshops (or willing to learn, as we can teach these skills) Essential Items Working with Children’s Check OR Teacher registration Senior First Aid Certificate Completion certificate for SEA training modules Why Work For Us Travel to amazing nature-based destinations in your home state, or choose to work in amazing interstate locations all around Australia Make a difference in the lives of young people by inspiring them to fall in love with nature An awesome opportunity to diversify your current work, gain new experiences in the outdoors and have fun Quarterly (fully funded) social experiences together with your team Huge amount of flexibility for when you work (we know program dates approx 6 months in advance) When and where is the work We have multiple camps every single school holiday period, as well as camps between the school holiday periods. Usually each program is 4 days in length (3 nights). You'll be working in nature based destinations that are typically 1 - 4 hours away from Sydney centre. To see our full list of upcoming programs – you may as well check out our website Access Adventure Club Renumeration You will take home between $425 – $500 per day as a contractor with your own ABN (very easy and cheap to set up, and we can guide you in that should you be successful). We also include all accommodation and chef‑made meals during your program. You will also be eligible individual ‘player of the match’ bonuses on each program, and team bonuses for when you are part of a team that gets a ‘match win’ on programs.
