Overview Minara Resources has an opportunity for an experienced mine operations supervisor to join our established and dedicated team. Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who are responsible for overseeing all mine production activities and personnel within their assigned crew to achieve compliance to the mine plan. This role acts as an appointed person to the Quarry Manager, conducting area inspections as required. Responsibilities As a representative of the Quarry Manager, ensure personnel in the mining areas are not exposed to hazards by undertaking regular inspections and directing the mining operations accordingly. Coach and mentor mining leading hands and your assigned crew to achieve objectives. Manage all leave requirements. Conduct training gap analysis and action/development plan for each employee. Ensure effective utilisation of the mining fleet to deliver on the mining plan. Ensure all required statutory and shift specific documentation is completed. Develop and maintain a positive team culture. Conduct interviews for new personnel. Manage and engage casual operators as required. About You This role would suit an effective leader with at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a production mining environment. You will also have: Restricted Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency. WA ‘HR’ class drivers’ licence (minimum). First Aid Certificate. Front line management (preferred). Demonstrated success as an effective leader. Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas. High level understanding of all relevant legislation relevant to role in the mining industry in WA. Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications.
