Job Description – Teacher Special Education ($5-8k Relocation Support Payment) – Bowral High School (0000B4AG) Location Bowral, Southern Highlands, 90 minutes southwest of Sydney, on Gundungurra Land. Number of Positions 1 Closing Date 26-Nov-2025, 5:00:00 AM Job Category Teachers Organisation Teaching Service Position Information Bowral High School is a comprehensive high school with a virtual selective stream (Aurora) and a support unit of seven classes. Student enrolment is 616 with 75 Aboriginal students and an increasing number of culturally and linguistically diverse students. The school serves families from Bowral, Mittagong and northern villages of the Southern Highlands. It is a High Potential Gifted Education partner school and uses Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) and Restorative Practice. Total Remuneration Package: Remuneration package valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience. Specific Selection Criteria Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with mild intellectual disability (secondary) and/or autism (secondary). Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with ability to maintain partnerships with students, parents, community and colleagues. Demonstrated classroom management skills supporting learning, behavioural and wellbeing needs of a range of students. Conditions Applicants seeking permanent full‑time or permanent part‑time employment are encouraged to apply. Permanent part‑time applicants (FTE 0.1–0.9) will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept. A relocation support payment of $5,000–$8,000 will be available for eligible applicants. An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
