Occupational Therapy Assistant (Allied Health Assistant) Support, deliver and enhance occupational therapy programs, manage equipment and assist patients to achieve meaningful outcomes in acute care. Work within a busy acute hospital with strong community links Be part of a collaborative allied health and multidisciplinary team Support a culturally diverse patient population Experience a workplace that values learning and professional development Contribute to high-quality, evidence-based patient care What You'll Be Doing In this role, you will provide essential occupational therapy assistant services under the supervision of a treating Occupational Therapist, supporting efficient and high‑quality care delivery to patients at Auburn Hospital. Deliver delegated patient‑related therapy activities in line with NSW Health and WSLHD policies Assist with individual and group therapy programs in hospital and community settings Fabricate, modify and maintain aids, orthotics and adaptive equipment Manage therapy equipment, stock and Short Term Equipment Service (STES) inventory, including home visits for equipment delivery and installation Document patient attendance, report progress and communicate effectively with occupational therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team Selection Criteria Certificate III or Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or a relevant qualification, or willingness to undertake this training Demonstrated previous experience working in a health‑related area providing basic patient care/clinical duties and contributing as part of a team Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with internal and external stakeholders Ability to prioritise workload delegated by supervising Occupational Therapist, meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice, seeking assistance as required Experience in planning and implementation of group activities Skills in fabrication and producing adapted equipment and orthotics as requested by Occupational Therapists Computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence and willingness to use it for work purposes Application Process Apply online by submitting your resume and providing examples that demonstrate your ability to meet the selection criteria before the closing date.
