Lecturer in Music (Instrumental Pedagogy) School of Music Part‑time (60% FTE), continuing position. Full‑time base salary will be in the range $114,824.05 – $136,048.72 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level B). Based at our St Lucia campus About This Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a Teaching‑Focused Lecturer to grow their teaching impact through leadership in course coordination and innovation in instrumental pedagogy. You will contribute to developing engaging, evidence‑based curriculum design and foster collaborations that enhance teaching practices and influence music education policy. The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant and creative academic community, contributing to the School of Music’s mission to advance music’s role in human flourishing and cultural connection. Key Responsibilities Teach across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate music courses, with a focus on instrumental pedagogy. Coordinate courses, design assessments, and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and workshops. Contribute to curriculum development to ensure programs are contemporary and relevant. Engage in scholarly collaborations and share best practices in teaching and learning. Maintain high‑quality course delivery and student experience. Provide academic advice and mentorship to students. About You PhD or equivalent qualification in Music (Instrumental Pedagogy preferred). Evidence of high‑quality teaching in instrumental pedagogy across a range of settings and class sizes. An emerging profile of teaching impact and innovation. Experience contributing to curriculum design and improvement projects. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within a team. Professional expertise that complements the school’s existing strengths. You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment.
