We are seeking a Senior Pool Technician who is highly skilled and an experienced professional responsible for the advanced maintenance, repair, and technical operation of swimming pools, spas, and water features. This role involves performing complex diagnostics, leading significant repair projects, ensuring water quality and safety standards are met, and mentoring junior staff. The Senior Pool Technician operates with a high degree of independence and technical expertise, serving as a key resource for the maintenance team and clients. Technical Maintenance & Repair Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of complex pool and spa equipment, including pumps, motors, heaters (gas, electric, and heat pump), filters (DE, sand, and cartridge), automated control systems, and chemical feeders. Conduct leak detection and structural inspections, and coordinate/execute necessary repairs to pool shells, decking, and plumbing. Install, program, and maintain sophisticated pool automation and chemical dosing systems. Manage and execute major equipment replacement and renovation projects. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all services performed, parts used, and equipment conditions. Water Chemistry & Safety Conduct advanced water testing and chemical balancing, ensuring strict adherence to local health codes and safety regulations (e.g., Langelier Saturation Index, cyanuric acid management, disinfection byproducts). Maintain chemical inventory and safely handle and store hazardous materials. Ensure all safety equipment, such as drains, covers, and alarms, are functioning correctly and comply with current regulations. Leadership & Mentorship Act as a technical mentor and trainer for Pool Technicians and Junior Technicians, sharing advanced knowledge and best practices. Assist in developing and refining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance and repair tasks. Oversee the quality and completeness of work performed by less experienced team members. Serve as a primary point of contact for complex client inquiries and technical issues. Administrative & Operational Manage a defined service route efficiently and report to the Service Manager on technical issues and service requirements. Provide detailed estimates for repair and replacement work. Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and environmental regulations. Required Experience: Minimum of 7 years of verifiable experience as a Pool Technician, with a focus on advanced repairs and diagnostics. Technical Skills: Proven expertise in electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, and hydraulics as related to pool systems. Certifications: Current and valid certification from a recognized organization, such as:Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) - or equivalent Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly explain complex technical issues to clients and team members.
