Restaurant General Manager The Basin Dining Room 1 Surfview Rd, Mona Vale NSW 2103 Start Date: 01/06/2025 The Basin Dining Room is a vibrant coastal restaurant located within the Mona Vale Surf Club, known for elevated comfort food, genuine hospitality, and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. With a loyal local following and a stunning beachfront setting, the venue strikes the perfect balance between refined dining and laid-back charm. We're looking for an experienced General Manager to lead from the front, someone who thrives in a high-energy service environment and is ready to play a key role in our continued growth. With plans to expand our events offering and evolve as a hospitality group, this is an exciting opportunity to make your mark. You’ll work closely with Head Chef Dan Bell, whose fine-dining background and seasonal approach bring depth and creativity to our kitchen. The Role: A hands-on leadership position responsible for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including service, team management, business performance, and events. Key Responsibilities: Lead daily operations across both FOH and BOH teams Set the tone for outstanding service and team culture Oversee rosters, staffing, stock control, and financials Develop and manage private dining and event offerings Work alongside ownership to shape business direction Ensure all compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards What You’ll Bring: Demonstrated experience in venue management or senior FOH leadership Strong floor presence and team leadership skills Solid understanding of hospitality operations and financial performance Interest or experience in event management and customer experience Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a genuine love for food, wine, and people What’s on Offer: Salary package of $90–$100k + generous tips Involvement in shaping our evolving events direction Supportive ownership and a collaborative team environment Opportunity to work closely with an accomplished chef Iconic beachside location and a dedicated customer base Step into a leading role at one of Sydney’s most acclaimed coastal dining spots – apply now.
