Role Overview As our In-House Legal and Corporate Services Manager, you’ll be the calm, sharp voice behind the scenes that helps everything run smoothly. You’ll oversee legal matters across the organisation and manage the corporate services that keep the business protected and moving forward, from contracts and compliance to risk, HR support and internal processes. You’ll work side by side with production, finance, suppliers and clients, giving practical, timely advice that fits a fast‑paced events world. It’s a hands‑on role for someone who likes real problems, quick turnarounds and being part of how great shows get made. Key Responsibilities Legal (Primary Function) Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including client service agreements, supplier and vendor contracts, talent licensing and IP agreements, venue hire and production agreements, and employment and contractor engagement terms. Provide legal guidance on event‑related risk, safety compliance and regulatory requirements. Manage contract lifecycle processes and maintain contract templates and documentation. Oversee intellectual property matters, including trademarks, licensing and usage rights. Support dispute resolution, incident reporting and claims management when required. Liaise with external legal counsel for specialised matters. Corporate Services HR policy development, employment documentation and compliance matters. Assist finance and operations with governance, regulatory reporting and corporate filings. Maintain company registers, legal databases and document management systems. Develop and implement internal processes to improve compliance and operational efficiency. Support procurement, vendor onboarding and due diligence of suppliers and partners. Identify legal and operational risks and propose mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including WHS, privacy, consumer law and industry regulations. Provide guidance on event safety, permits, licences and regulatory approvals. Deliver staff training on compliance topics as required. Skills & Experience Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor, with eligibility for legal practice. 3–7 years post‑qualification experience (in‑house or private practice). Experience with commercial contracting; exposure to event, media, creative or entertainment sectors highly advantageous. Strong understanding of corporate governance and compliance requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate legal concepts into practical guidance. High attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast‑moving environment. Collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
