If so, we need you on our team You will need to be an experienced HCPC registered Occupational Therapist ideally with knowledge of health and social care occupational therapy services and leadership. Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities: Provide occupational therapy services with skills in therapy, the provision of moving and handling solutions, equipment and adaptations provisions. Provide leadership and direction to the occupational therapy and sensory team. Support the manager in running, governance and development of the Disability Resource Team service. Support the service in meeting their statutory duties under the Care Act and Care Quality Commission standards. Be able to travel across the county of East Riding to provide services, have a valid driving license, use of a car with business insurance is required. Workforce recruitment and retention. Apply today to become a valued member of our reablement therapy team Job responsibilities Our occupational therapy team works with individuals with long term conditions and disabilities to maximise their potential to live well in their homes and communities. We use a strength based approach to help them overcome some of the challenges of their condition and environment enabling them to do the everyday activities they value. The service consists of occupational therapy, community support workers and the social work team. We work closely with colleagues and partners in health and the voluntary sector to ensure that we have an integrated and collaborative approach. The practitioner will need to have skills in the provision of therapeutic techniques, moving and handling, equipment and adaptations to support people to achieve their goals. Person Specification Experience Experience of completing complex assessment, including moving and handling and the provision of minor and major equipment. Experience in home adaptations and the Disability Facility Grant. Has specialist knowledge relevant to health and social care and/or other related organisations. Experience of working in accordance to and knowledge of statutory requirements and national guidance and practice e.g. Care Act 2014. Experience of working in a supervisory capacity providing clear direction Experience and commitment to collaborative working with all partners, agencies, including the voluntary sector and community groups to develop andmaintain effective working relationships. Experience of carrying out assessments in a social care setting. Knowledge and Skills Has specialist knowledge relevant to health and social care and/or other related organisations. Ability to advise and support the team manager on relevant matters affecting the service and contribute as required to change programmes within the service. Decision making skills and the ability to organise and plan own workload. Excellent written, including assessment and report writing, communication, organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Working knowledge of Blue Badge criteria and appeals process. IT literate (Microsoft office products or equivalent) including a good workingknowledge of email / diary management and word processing. Good knowledge of relevant legislation and local authority responsibilities in the safeguarding of vulnerable adults. Demonstrates organisational awareness. Enthusiasm for and commitment to making a difference encouraging innovation and thinking outside the box. Knowledge of strength and asset based community development. Work as part of a team contributing to team development and planning with the ability to explain, encourage and build confidence. Suitable to work with vulnerable adults and children. Full driving licence and use of vehicle for business purposes.
