Key Accountabilities This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health’s values : Clinical Practice : Deliver high level Nuclear Medicine Scientist clinical services across multiple-modality specialties in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards within established clinical and radiation hygiene protocols. Exercises independent professional judgement in decision making in a clinical environment where the caseload is varied and increasingly complex beyond routine nuclear medicine practice. Contribute to the development of procedure, protocols and other clinical work practices. Initiating, implementing and evaluating quality improvement activities that support the provision of the Nuclear Medicine Scientist service. Demonstrates high-level Nuclear Medicine knowledge and skills across multiple-modalities, including general Nuclear Medicine procedures, SPECT / CT imaging, PET / CT imaging, Diagnostic CT imaging, Bone Mineral Densitometry, Radiopharmacy with GMP standards and Paediatric Nuclear Medicine. Participate in a duty roster including on call. Undertake training to and implement administration of medications approved by the facility and in line with your scope of practise. Communication / Team Participation Provide clinical advice to supervisors, relevant service managers and other stakeholders regarding service delivery, equipment, technology and the development of clinical services. As required work as part of the Nuclear Medicine Scientist team to provide Nuclear Medicine service outside the Department, including the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Develops effective professional relationships with patients, staff and other stakeholders to influence and achieve the best clinical outcomes, with utmost respect to all people at all times. Leadership Requirements Provide clinical practice supervision to staff to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards within the Nuclear Medicine service. Actively undertake clinical governance activities within the department, including education, training, clinical audits and be involved in departmental research activities.
