About the Role: The College is seeking to fill the role of Associate Professor in Built Environment. As the Associate Professor, you will provide academic leadership across teaching, research, and service, contributing to the strategic development of the Construction Management discipline. You will play a key role in shaping undergraduate and postgraduate programs, mentoring emerging academics and researchers, and leading impactful research that addresses critical challenges in the built environment — particularly in sustainable construction, digital transformation, and circular economy practices. You will also engage with industry partners and research collaborators to translate innovative ideas into practice and strengthen the national and international reputation of VU in construction research and education. This is a full‑time continuing appointment (36.75 hours per week) at the classification of Academic Level D, salary range of $161,351–$177,756 plus 17% superannuation. You will have demonstrated expertise in sustainability, digitalisation, or advanced construction technologies, and a history of attracting research funding, publishing in high‑quality journals, and supervising HDR students to completion. Your leadership in teaching innovation, including curriculum design and assessment aligned with accreditation and industry needs, will complement your research excellence. You will be a collegial collaborator with the ability to inspire students, foster industry partnerships, and contribute to the university’s mission of creating impact through transformative education and applied research.
