Role Description As the Principal Solicitor , you will be the founding legal leader of our new firm, responsible for delivering high‑quality legal services and setting up the practice’s operations. Practice Establishment & Compliance : Set up and manage the firm’s operations, policies, and procedures, ensuring all legal practice requirements are met. Legal Services Leadership : Provide expert advice and representation, maintaining excellent client service and high ethical standards. Team Supervision & Mentorship : Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, paralegals and migration consultants, sharing knowledge and guiding staff toward solicitor admission. Integration & Collaboration : Work closely with the existing migration practice to deliver seamless solutions and train staff on legal procedures. Strategic Growth : Contribute to the firm’s strategic direction, expand the client base, build reputation in Brisbane, and develop new practice areas. As the holder of a Principal Practising Certificate and a designated Responsible Person, you will provide legal oversight for services, manage risk and supervision systems, and ensure consistent compliance across the practice. Qualifications and Requirements Principal Practising Certificate or ability to upgrade via the Practice Management Course. Experience in migration law, family law or property law is highly desirable. 3–5+ years post‑admission experience, with higher PQE welcome. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a legal practice, including workflow setup and regulatory compliance. Strong willingness to share knowledge and mentor others, with excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent understanding of professional and ethical obligations; familiarity with trust accounting and risk management.
