Project Engineer - Remediation and Resource Recovery RE3 is a Queensland-based business pioneering on-site remediation and resource recovery of construction slurries, soils and other problematic wastes. Our modular, mobile plants are able to wash, process and treat contaminated waste destined for landfill, recovering valuable resources and achieving a true circular economy. Position Overview We're seeking a Sustainable Systems / Process Engineer to help optimise, design, and scale our resource-recovery systems. This junior to mid-level position is ideal for an early-career engineer eager to combine technical design with hands‑on sustainability impact. You'll work directly with our operations, engineering, and commercial teams to refine process performance, enhance equipment design, and develop next-generation sustainable technologies for the construction and waste sectors. There will also be project management, business development and other commercial opportunities for skill development. Key Responsibilities Support the design and optimisation of process systems for material recovery, dewatering, and water recycling. Apply sustainable systems thinking to improve plant efficiency, circularity, and environmental performance. Assist in developing and refining process flow diagrams and plant operating parameters. Collaborate with fabrication partners and suppliers on design enhancements and Research & Development (R&D) trials. Analyse data from field trials to validate performance improvements. Contribute to safety, quality, and environmental compliance documentation. Provide operational support/management on site from time to time. Contribute to plant SOP documentation, O&M programming and other general business administration as required. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Sustainable Systems Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. 2–5 years experience in process, waste, or environmental engineering roles (preferred). Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications and demonstrated interest in sustainable systems will be considered. Familiarity with process design and plant operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands‑on mindset. A genuine passion for sustainability, circular economy, and resource recovery.
